Presentation Title:
All these little things
Presentation Synopsis:
Sharing Suki Tea’s experience in growing a responsible business that we can proud of. Little things make big things happen.’
Speaker Bio:
The Suki Tea vision is to grow a global community of loose leaf tea drinkers, an appreciation society of the ritual in a great-tasting, ethically-sourced cuppa. With Suki Tea recently celebrating over a decade of building a brand and company to be proud of, it is Anne’s principal job to ensure their mission is fulfilled over the next 100 years to stay true to the principles of growing an adventurous and responsible business.
As co-founder and Managing Director of Suki Tea, Anne adopts many roles and hats but every direction considered refers back to Suki’s vision and mission. She did not hail from a business background, or even tea-related background, spending many years teaching English in Asia and then working as a linguist in Queen’s University. However, it was from her travels in Asia that a true love of the wonderful world of tea was born. She is primarily responsible for sustainable strategic planning, and manages all sourcing, nurturing of supply chain relationships as well as product quality and integrity. For a company to be proud of, Anne focuses on creating a culture of learning, development and motivation within the team. She also ensures Suki Tea has a strong sense of community, be it within their 16-strong TEAm at their blending and packing operation in Belfast, or with local charities and community networks, as well as global partnerships in attempting to make a difference through responsible business practices.
She also crunches the numbers.
